Matisse Thybulle ROY

I know the season is early but so far Matisse Thybulle is playing so well that he should be considered for Rookie of the Year. If he wins, this will be the second time the Sixers have had a ROY since Michael Carter Williams during the process and post-process eras. Again it is early and I don't mean to jump the gun but he is just playing that good. And with Zion collecting splinters in his rear so to speak by not playing due to injuries Matisse's time is now. And he's showing it.

During the game earlier this week against Denver when most of the starters struggled and EMBIID continued to make goofy turnovers Matisse shone. He popped 3 ball after 3 ball and played defense with a rugged veteran's court sensibilities but a rookie 22-year-old's feistiness and energy. Whatta guy! On a team full of All-Stars and proven veterans, Thybull has on numerous occasions such as this one proved himself to be the game's MVP. This stuff matters folks and deserves serious recognition.

Again again again, I know, I know, I know -- it's early, but with the rest of the team seemingly inconsistent and struggling all the time, having Matisse, a rookie middle-first-round pick leading the bench and overall team for the matter as well as he has I cannot say enough how much of a pleasant surprise and breath of fresh air he has become. All he has to do now is keep up the good effort show consistency and the Sixers will continue to reap what it has sown in a the form of more wins, play-off series, and championships long term.

In honor of Thybulle's great play of late I am recommending this coffee table book of beatiful Henri Matisse paintings. Henri Matisse was a seminal early 20th century French artist who broke ground in the colourist and fauvist art movements. Here is a link to a book of some of his greatest works. Enjoy!
