Sixers Lose in 3OT

Sixers loes at home last Friday night to the Thunder. It took 3 overtimes to do it, but Russel Westbrook was just too damn good. At least Joel Embiid gave him his piece of mind. This could develop into a great rivalry. Looking forward to their next matchup in OKC.

Sixers go to Chicago Monday night to play the abysmal Bulls. They have no business losing. Regardless, they're only a 1.5 point favorite. If you're looking for a lock, bet on the Sixers to cover. The Bulls are terrible and the Sixers are looking to redeem themselves after going the distance and getting just slightly edged by the visitors Friday night at home.

     The 2023 NBA Dunk Contest was one for the ages, and I couldn't be prouder of Mac McClung for taking home the title. The young guard out of Texas put on an incredible display of athleticism and creativity, showcasing his vertical leap and ability to soar through the air.     RIP Kobe

    Need to take a break from Sixers to honor the man Kobe Bryant, tragically passing away yesterday with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others in a freak helicopter crash. I remember in 6th grade, sitting on the bleachers of my middle school gymnasium waiting for class to start and my gym teacher discussing with other students about Kobe taking Brandi to the prom. This memory is etched into my brain, before I was really that interested in pro basketball beyond what the Bulls were doing. Really, this was in 1996 when the Sixers were terrible and Allen Iverson was still a year away from getting drafted. But I knew about Kobe, despite Brandi being a much bigger celebrity at the time. Fast forward to 2001, and Kobe was the villain. Our hometown hero had vanquished his hometown, fully embracing his Angeleno status.     Ben Simmons Punk'd Us All

     I haven't updated this since the start of COVID so alot has changed since my last post. However one thing remains the same -- the Sixers are still Championshipless. And Ben Simmons is on the way out. Let's talk about this for a minute. Ben Simmons represents a lot of what's wrong with the NBA. Namely, a 25-year-old kid is making $200 million and everyone's upset at him for acting spoiled. Let me tell you something about having $200 million. Oh wait, never mind, let me not because neither I, nor most of you my dear readers, will ever come close to sniffing that kind of money in our lifetimes (no matter how much bitcoin you own).
