Sixers Did it and Win the Game

Sixers did what they had to do and win the Xmas day game on ESPN. In front of millions of viewers the Sixers defeat New York's so-called professional basketball team in front of their fans, covering the spread while doing so. Joel Embiid played his game, hit 2 for 3 from three, and just was all around Embiid. He needs to play more games, straight up cause he is just necessary to the team's success. JJ Redick was back in business too and made a direct impact, hittin shots, hustlin, and making a case for being the second best player cause Simmons isn't helping himself. He just needs to learn how to shoot to make it in this league long term. I mean he can defend, hustle, pass, and do what he wants in the paint but adding even a 15-footer to his arsenal or improving his FT% even a couple points would go a long way.

Next up is Philly in Portland Thursday night. Pickin Sixers cause they got time to rest and Embiid and Redick have no excuse not to play.

RIP Kobe

Need to take a break from Sixers to honor the man Kobe Bryant, tragically passing away yesterday with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others in a freak helicopter crash. I remember in 6th grade, sitting on the bleachers of my middle school gymnasium waiting for class to start and my gym teacher discussing with other students about Kobe taking Brandi to the prom. This memory is etched into my brain, before I was really that interested in pro basketball beyond what the Bulls were doing.  I haven't updated this since the start of COVID so alot has changed since my last post. However one thing remains the same -- the Sixers are still Championshipless. And Ben Simmons is on the way out. Let's talk about this for a minute. Ben Simmons represents a lot of what's wrong with the NBA. Namely, a 25-year-old kid is making $200 million and everyone's upset at him for acting spoiled. Let me tell you something about having $200 million.
